DARE TO DREAM
Über das Motiv
A surrealist scene shows an elephant sitting on the branch of a lone, dried-out tree in the middle of a sandy desert — the composition balances between melancholy and humor. The color palette is warm and muted: golden sands and brown tones of wood and elephant skin contrast with a blue, slightly hazy sky. The frame, shot from behind, gives the scene an intimate, reflective character, as if the great animal were lost in thought over the horizon. This combination of realism with the absurd brings to mind dreamlike surrealism, where the physical laws of reality give way to imagination.
