DAWN BLOOM
Über das Motiv
A lush composition of chrysanthemums in a deep, dark tone catches the eye like a garden lit by the last glow of the autumn sun. Intense flaming oranges and rust tones of the flowers explode against a background of deep green leaves and an almost black backdrop, creating a dramatic contrast full of tension and sensuality. Precisely drawn petal outlines give the composition a graphic distinctness close to Japanese woodcuts, and a creamy-beige flower on the right introduces a subtle note of respite. The whole radiates the wild, unbridled beauty of nature captured at the peak of its bloom.
